FAQ - Questions during the exam
We recommend specifying the time window with a time buffer (verbally). You can open and close the exam manually. The TANs can be sent to the students in advance. The option “Create exam as closed (no access possible for participants)” guarantees that access is only possible after approval, i.e., at the time of the exam.
No, the TAN expires once it has been used.
Yes, if examinees have accidentally left the exam or can no longer access it (e.g., by reloading the browser window), you can re-enable individual TANs via the exam dashboard. To do this, click on “Exam Dashboard” in your exam overview, find the relevant person or TAN in the list, and click on the lock icon on the right.
(Please note: If you have set a time limit, the time will continue to run even if the candidate is not currently in the exam. Once the time has expired, the TAN can no longer be opened.)
Yes, if you need additional TANs (e.g., because additional people are to take the exam), you can generate new TANs in your exam dashboard.
It is not actually possible to send “by accident” because EvaExam asks again: “You have not yet answered xx questions. Please confirm with [OK] to submit your answers or select [Cancel] to return to the exam form.”
If a candidate submits the exam despite this warning, it is considered submitted.
EvaExam saves an interim status on the server every five minutes. You can load this data in the exam dashboard. If the note “Data not submitted” appears next to a person's name, you can load the cached data in the column “Transfer data from storage” to the right of it.
In principle, this is possible, as several large e-exams taking place in parallel can lead to high server utilization. To counteract this, server capacity is planned or adjusted accordingly when organizing exam dates. However, you can also counteract this problem yourself by staggering the start of the exam so that only a certain number of students start the exam at any one time.
Yes, the current interim status is saved on the server every 300 seconds (5 minutes) and can therefore be retrieved in the event of technical difficulties.
We recommend that you always close the exam manually. In the “Exam details” section, you can see the number of returns, provided the exam is still open, to see how many exams have already been completed.
